UPDATE, August 20, 2014, 8:35 a.m. ET
The New York Post published a graphic image on the front page of its Wednesday edition, showing the man believed to be the journalist James Foley with a knife held to his throat. The image came from a video released Tuesday by Islamic State militants, purporting to show Foley’s execution.
The Post is known for pushing the limits with its front page. The move was roundly criticized. The image is not being replicated here due to its graphic nature.
