John Boyega has no time for Samuel L. Jackson’s ‘Get Out’ criticism

Jordan Peele’s directorial debut Get Out has become the first major movie event of 2017, but Samuel L. Jackson had one notable critique: The actor told hip-hop radio station Hot 97 that Get Out should have starred an African American actor instead of the British-born Daniel Kaluuya.

Then Britain’s own Star Wars actor John Boyega caught wind of the comment, he dismissed it as a “stupid-ass conflict.”

“There are a lot of black British actors in these movies,” Jackson told the New York radio station. “I tend to wonder what Get Out would have been with an American brother who really understands that. I mean, Daniel grew up in a country where they’ve been interracial dating for a hundred years,” Jackson said. …
