Net Neutrality rules roll out to keep Internet a one-lane highway


Despite months of heated debate, a new set of net neutrality rules went into effect Friday, so all web users (you and me) and the big traffic-sucking companies (like Netflix and Hulu) get equal rights on the Internet highway.

Have you dozed off yet? Net neutrality can be a dense subject, but it’s important. At the core, it means all data and content on the Internet must be given equal rights, whether you’re a college student in a dorm room or a mega-conglomerate that uses up a lot of the web’s speed for, say, streaming movies and TV shows
