Pride of Australia, Ben Mendelsohn beats out GoT actors to win an Emmy

It’s a first-time Emmy win for Australian actor and undeniable bloody legend Ben Mendelsohn, who took home Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Danny Rayburn on the Netflix series Bloodline.

Mendelsohn beat a number of high profile contenders, including Game of Thrones actors, Kit Harrington and Peter Dinklage, Michael Kelly from House of Cards, Jon Voight from Ray Donovan, and Jonathan Banks of Better Caul Saul.

He saved organisers an acceptance speech, however, as he wasn’t in attendance at the ceremony.

Like many Australian character actors now making it big in Hollywood, Mendelsohn paid his dues in the local screen industry, appearing dramas like Neighbours and the Secret Life of Us. He’s definitely one of those faces you keep seeing again and again if you watch Australian television. …
