After three days of deliberation, a San Jose court has found Samsung guilty of infringement on a number of Apple smartphone patents — just as it did in a similar patent case two years ago.
A four-man, four-woman jury has been deliberating the case for the past three days, and announced that they had a verdict shortly after 5pm Pacific time. The amount of damages the jury said Samsung should pay Apple: $119.6 million
That’s far short of the $2.19 billion the Cupertino company was asking for, and somewhat short of the $930 million Apple won in the previous verdict. (Samsung still hasn’t paid a penny of that, as the case is still on appeal.) …
