Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer,” Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy,” TLC’s “Waterfall,” Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love” are among the category’s royalty.
